IT and Food sectors co-operate across Øresund

The food industry increasingly demands advanced IT solutions, and especially business intelligence is an area calling for attention. The Virtual Food Factory has therefore established a new network of excellence, where the IT and Food sectors meet.

IKEA Food Services and Tetra Pak are among the participants. At a meeting in March they described their experiences and hope for Business Intelligence solutions. Beside food companies a number of experts within information management, both university and industry from Sweden and Denmark, were represented.

- "We are very enthusiastic about the network being a reality. We find great opportunities in a future cooperation with the IT industry and have major expectations to how they can develop solutions that fit the food industry’s needs, says Lars Rahbek from IKEA Food Services AB".

There has long been a need for knowledge sharing in the Øresund Region in order to strengthen the region’s leading position within Information Management. Networking is one way to influence the future development, meet new business opportunities, and be inspired. The activities in the network provide companies and universities with knowledge for future business and development.
