The Virtual Food Factory is a collaborative project between Øresund Food Network (ØFN) and Øresund IT (ØIT). The project is funded by Interreg IIIA - Øresund.

The objective of the project is to integrate the ICT sector with the food sector. Our vision is to make the Øresund Region visible as one of the leading when it comes to the cross surface between ICT and issues related to the food value-chain such as; food production, processing, distribution and consumption.

The Virtual Food Factory has four focus areas:

• Effective & Flexible Production
• Food Chain Management
• Enabling technologies
• Business Intelligence

Different activities - from network meetings to workshops - are made within the four focus area. The project has participants from the industry, universities, research institutes and authorities in Denmark and Sweden. Read more about the specific areas under “Projects”.

The work of The Virtual Food Factory consists of identifying potential growth opportunities within the focus areas. The activities should in turn generate new collaboration and research projects - enhancing the level of knowledge and technology in the Øresund Region.
